Arizona Lutheran Academy, a grade 9-12 Christian high school, was established in 1978. It is located on the southwest corner of 27
Avenue and Southern and borders the diverse Phoenix communities of South Mountain and Laveen.
ALA is locally and nationally recognized for college preparation (over 90 percent of ALA graduates continue their education after graduation), character development and community service as well as athletic achievement and music/fine arts.
ALA was recently named a 2014 finalist for the Arizona Interscholastic Association Director’s Cup—an award recognized as the pinnacle of excellence in high school athletics. Finalist selection is based on a combination of outstanding achievements in athletics, scholastics, activities, and character based initiatives.
Arizona Lutheran Academy expresses gratitude to the NFL Foundation, LISC, and Walmart for making the Grassroots Grant possible. The goal of the Grassroots program is to provide non-profit, neighborhood-based organizations with the financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields.
Since 1998, more than $35 million in NFL Grassroots field grants has been awarded for 273 projects in over 70 cities nationwide.
