Gifts to ALA

Your support of Arizona Lutheran Academy changes lives.

Give a gift to ALA's students today.

ALA Fund
Since ALA's inception, we have been thankful for generous individual donors and their support of ALA's ministry. Whether the gift is monthly or a one-time donation, this support is vital to support acdemic excellence, faith & service, extra-curriculars, and fine arts.  Gifts to the "ALA Fund" impact people, teachers, and students, and are a visible reminder of God's grace to our ALA family.  Give online with a one-time or recurring gift.

Financial Aid / Tuition Assistance
Your gift will be awarded directly to ALA families to assist with their tuition obligations for the next school year. Give online.  Choose "Financial Aid" from the drop down when giving an online gift.

Recurring Gifts
Monthly gifts are a wonderful way to continually support the education of over 190 teenagers! You can set up a recurring gift online, or contact Jen Bode at or phone at 602-268-8686, ext. 37 to get more information this program.

Memorials and Honorariums
Give a gift in memory or in honor of someone special to you. A gift to ALA is a thoughtful way to influence the lives of our students while recognizing someone you love or care about.

    IRA Charitable Rollover
  • The Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), sometimes called an IRA charitable rollover, is available.

If you are 70½ or older and own an IRA, you can transfer funds directly from your IRA directly to a qualified non-profit like ALA. This IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)  will count against your required distribution, reducing your adjusted gross income for taxes.  You must act before December 31 to benefit. Best of all, it is an easy way to help share God's Word with students at ALA.

The IRA Charitable Rollover is a great way to support ALA, your church, or other ministry!

Here is a recap of the details:
    • Donors must be 70½ or older.
    • Funds must come from a traditional IRA.
    • 401(k), 403(b), and other retirement plans do not qualify for the IRA Charitable Rollover.
    • The maximum gift transfer is $100,000; there is no minimum.
    • Transfers must go to a recognized charitable organization; your church and ALA qualify.
    • Donors do not need to transfer their entire Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) as a charitable gift. You can split your RMD between personal income and a donation.
    • The transfer counts toward your RMD which reduces your taxable income.
    • The gift must be processed before the end of the calendar year.
    • You must request the IRA Charitable Rollover through you plan's account representative and have the money sent directly to the charity. Be careful! The money cannot go to you first.
Download a sample letter to mail or email your IRA administrator.
If you have any questions about the IRA Charitable Rollover, contact Chet Jaehnig, ALA Board Chairman, office number 480-889-3198, or talk with your financial planner.
