AIA Director's Cup Award
Arizona Lutheran Academy Receives AIA 1A-3A Director's Cup Award

PHOENIX, AZ, May 19, 2014 —

Arizona Lutheran Academy was honored as the recipient of the Arizona Interscholastic Association Director's Cup Award at the Champions Award Luncheon at the University of Phoenix Stadium on May 19.

The Directors Cup signifies that ALA has reached the pinnacle of excellence in athletics, scholastics, activities, service, community and character-based initiatives.

The Arizona Interscholastic Association presents the award to one 1A-3A and one 4A-5A high school each year.

The selection committee reviews all eligible nominations, based on:

  • creative implementation of the Pursuing Victory With Honor initiative (or a similar character program). ALA uses the "Character Matters" curriculum to guide our students in their walk with Christ.
  • game management, sportsmanlike conduct, GPA, and activity participation
  • percentage of students participating in AIA-sanctioned activities and the impact those students had on the school's climate
Thank you to all of the committed parents, students, teachers, coaches, and friends who played a role in this remarkable achievement. To God be the glory!  - AIA Champions Luncheon video stream
