STUDENT TIMELINE
Senior Year
Senior year can be a very busy time, with schoolwork, activities, and special events. There is so much to do to get ready for fall 2021!
August to December are the dates to take or retake your SAT or ACT.
Early fall is the time to start applying to four-year colleges. Part of the application process is requesting a sixth-semester transcript from ALA through Parchment.
Soon after October 1, you will start the FAFSA. Be sure to apply for your FSA ID before sitting down to do the application.
If you plan to attend a Community College, start that process during the second semester.
May 1 is Decision Day. This is the date that most schools will want your decision—and deposits!
Junior Year
This is a key year in the college planning process. You’ll be taking standardized tests, exploring careers, narrowing down your college list, and learning about financial aid.
In addition, you’ll need to stay involved in your high school courses and activities. Colleges will look at freshman through junior years on your transcript to determine school acceptance as well as scholarship qualification. Make your junior year count!
